THE QUEST FOR THE BIG WAVES
ABOUT THIS TRIP
Designing this route was a personal passion project that took time and effort. My goal was to craft a safe, yet awe-inspiring path to Nazaré—one that takes you through an unforgettable coastline still waiting to be fully discovered.
We’ll begin in Lisbon, where the energy of the city blends seamlessly with the coastal beauty as we head toward Cascais, soaking up the vibrant beach atmosphere. From there, we ride to Ericeira, my personal favorite beach town in Portugal. With its picturesque white and blue houses, Ericeira holds a special place in the surf world as Europe’s only World Surfing Reserve. Next, we make our way to Peniche, home to some of the best surf spots in the country and the backdrop for international championships. Our journey culminates in Nazaré, where, if we’re fortunate, we may witness the legendary giant waves. But even if the waves aren’t as massive as expected, I promise you’ll see some truly incredible surf action.
This tour is perfect for intermediate riders—those who are comfortable with some single-track riding and open to tackling a few challenges along the way. Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with stunning views, rich surf culture, and an incredible adventure along one of Europe’s most beautiful and rugged coastlines.
